There are six forts, six passes, twelve beacon-towers, and thirty-two guard towers in this section of the wall. The Yaoziyu Fort is the best preserved fort among others. It covers an area of 7000 square meters and was built in the year 1592.
History of Huanghua Cheng Section
It was in the year 1575 during the Ming Dynasty, under the supervision of General Cai Kai, the construction of the Huanghua Cheng Section began. It took many years for the exacting general to finish the construction but when he returned to the capital to his emperor he was immediately beheaded. Shrewd ministers had plotted against him. They had told Emperor Wanli that the general was negligent about his duties and had performed a haphazard and languid work. So enraged was the Emperor that he immediately ordered for his execution. It was only after his death the Emperor apprehending foul play decided to send his close aid to investigate the work of General Cai. The reports were of high praise of the general's work and the emperor's woes knew no bounds. Wanli ordered a tomb and memorial stele to be erected in the honor of the loyal general.
Jintang Great Wall
"Jin Tang", meaning firm and stable was also inscribed on the huge rock below the wall. This is another reason why the wall is also called the Jintang Great Wall. There is a crescent shaped reservoir named Huanghuacheng Reservoir and a lake named Jintang nearby.
Shibadeng section is the steepest section of the Huanghuacheng Great Wall and can be a great challenge for the climbers as it has neither stone steps nor does it have a single smooth path.
