The beginning of the Chinese New Year celebration is very ancient. The celebration of the Chinese New Year is not restricted particularly to China but has even intruded in the regions of China, Vietnam, Hong Kong, the United States. This is because of the emigration of the Chinese people some years back to various parts of the world. Several Chinese colonies have sprung in different parts of the world as a result of this emigration activity. The existence of many Chinatowns throughout the world are clear indication of the Chinese influence all over. Though the people in every place have adapted the traditional activities the celebrations of Chinese new year is held differently in the United States than in Asia retaining the flavors of China. So, it is not surprising that Chinatown is especially photogenic during the Chinese New Year celebration in San Francisco.
