Also known as the Lishui River, the Li River, one of the important part of the Guilin scenery, originates in mountain Cat at the Xinan Country, located in the northeast of Guilin. The Li River meanders its way for about 170 Kilometers,passing through the Guilin, Yangshuo to the outlet of the Gongchen River in the Pingle Country. The cities along the Li River include Zhangjiajie, Jishou, Lixian, Jinshi, Shimen andChangde. The Li River is known for clear and spectacular reflections of the hills surrounding it. During the winters, this view becomes all the more fascinating due to the drizzling rains and lingering clouds. The Li River is appropriately called as the fairyland for the tourists. According to the different scenes, the Li River can be divided into three main sections.

Guilin To Ox Gorge

The pictures gallery, along the banks of the Li River, at this point includes the forest of fantastic peaks, towns, dispersed cottages and fields. The main attractions along the banks of the Li River in the first section include the Elephant Hill, the rooster fighting hill, the Clear-Vase Hill, the Forest of odd peaks, Father and son cave, Longmen village, the Dayan town and the Millstone Hill.

Ox Gorge To Water-Dropping Village

This section of the Li river includes a variety of mountain ranges and many weird shaped peaks, which make for a great tourist attraction. The major tourist attractions in this section include the Wang Fu Rock, Caoping Village, Crown Cave, One-side Ferry, A boy worships Buddha, Wave-stone scenery, Eight fairies crossing the River, the Mural Hill, Reflection of the Yellow cloth and the Xingping town.

Water-Dropping Village To Yangshuo

In this third section, the Li River offers green bamboos, bending willows, crop fields, cottages and fishing villages. This part of the river is also known for its green hills, clear water, fantastic caves and stunning rocks.
